National Parks Partnerships

The fifteen UK National Parks cover c.10% of Great Britain, attract 104 million visits a year. These iconic landscapes are a national treasure and a vital natural resource. 119 million tonnes of carbon are stored in peatland in National Parks; the equivalent of one third of the UK’s entire Co2 emissions for a year*. But like many natural habitats and species that rely on them, it is threatened.

The UK National Parks work with partners and landowners to conserve and enhance nature, wildlife and cultural heritage in England, Wales and Scotland; and provide opportunities for everyone to access nature for their wellbeing, whilst working positively with local communities.

National Parks Partnerships brings companies, investors and environmental funders together with the National Parks and the National Parks Foundation, at a national level. We identify and collate projects in need of support and create bespoke corporate partnerships aligned to businesses ESG strategies to deliver them.

Happy 75th Anniversary to our wonderful
National Parks!

Celebrating 75 years of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, which has shaped the landscapes we cherish today. Seventy-five years ago, this groundbreaking law – described as the “people’s charter for the open air” – was passed through parliament, leading to the creation of the UK’s first National Parks. Here’s to another 75 years of these beautiful places being protected, enjoyed, and improved for the benefit of both nature and people.
